Some Wolf Hall viewers aren’t very happy at the use of the c-word

It seems some Wolf Hall viewers apparently aren’t very happy about the level of swearing in the BBC drama.

The c-word – not c**p, the ruder one – was dropped towards the end of last week’s episode, with one courtier saying of Anne Boleyn: ‘Has she not got the wettest c*** you ever groped?’

Anyone who has read Hilary Mantel’s novels will know this line is taken directly from Bring Up The Bodies – and has an important part to play in the events that follow.

While the episode aired after the watershed on BBC Two, a handful of people were outraged enough to contact Ofcom to complain.
