This question is often being asked by travellers, especially women, before going to a country that some of us might not be so familiar with, both in terms of the culture and religion. Despite being a predominantly Muslim country, most of the young Moroccan women don’t wear a veil, although they might wear a headscarf. Besides the culture, since Morocco, especially Marrakech, has been influenced by different cultures and despite being the most popular destination for tourists in the country, local people are quite relaxed about what tourists are wearing. Tank tops, dresses, skirts or trousers that are just above or cover the knees seem to be absolutely fine for most of the locals, although you may receive some unpleasant staring from locals outside of Marrakech, if being spotted in skimpy and tight outfits.
