Only a few of us know the history of Argan oil.
Well briefly, Argan Tree which grows only in Southwestern Morocco is the main source of the oil. The oil is then pressed from the nut of the fruit of the tree. The Morocco’s mountain goat eats the fruit of the Argan tree which grows to about 35 feet tall. Thus, the argan oil producers would take the undigested seed from the goat’s droppings, and use that to produce the argan oil.
The argan tree is found only in a limited area and is made by women who hand-crack the argan nuts in between two stones, which makes the oil rare and valuable.
